CentralVision TV will be launching in summer 2008.
CentralVision TV is an innovative not-for-profit community television station that will be broadcasting via the internet, utilising cutting edge technology. This multi-million pound project has been made possible by investment and help from Sony(UK)Ltd, Rawflow Ltd and the European Regional Development Fund.
This project is the culmination of nearly three years work to form a project that will truly work with all sectors of our community, whether business, local government or voluntary bodies without losing sight of its need to give individual citizens their voice in shaping their future.
CentralVision TV has at its centre the following objectives:
- To support economic development, regeneration and development across the region
- To give people a strong voice in their community and future prosperity
CentralVision TV recognises the fact that, to date, the needs of the local community have not been well served by the existing Local TV services. These services are still based on historic and on-demand requirements. The sense of relevance to the community is not there and the demand for local news, information and entertainment is not being met.
CentralVision TV will deliver local AND ultra local relevant information that will have real impact on peoples lives. In this way CentralVision TV will maximize its impact upon the lives and economy of this region by making the station an integral part of the social knowledge network that supports social cohesion, in all of its many forms.
To this end, CentralVision TV is more than just one channel. It’s aim is to support and act as an aggregator of many channels that will allow local citizens to fully participate in the life of our community, in the decisions that affect our community, and in the future of our community.
